Our inaugural production, Charles L. Mee's True Love, heralded the opening of a new and unique Off-Broadway theatre space-The Zipper: a factory renovated and transformed by the True Love creative team in conjunction with the theatre owners specifically to suit the needs of our production. What resulted was a theatre piece perfectly married to its atmosphere; a totally enveloping theatrical experience. The audience lounged in car seats, eating popcorn and drinking beer to the sounds of our live garage band as Mee's exploration of love played out in the abandoned zipper factory turned gas station. True Love was met with resounding critical acclaim—theatergoers and critics alike praised the strength of the ensemble cast, the inventive direction, and the stunning theatricality of the work.
